Has anyone tried plumbing the fuel return line to T into the fuel pump intake line to solve or minimize the starvation issue.

Basically cut and plug the return hose location on the driver side of the tank and extent the return line to a new T fitting installed between the fuel tank and fuel pump?

That would probably solve the low fuel issue, but it would also oveheat the pump and cause vapor lock on warm days.

Why not just go to the gas station?, running a low level in the tank stirs up crap on the bottom and allows condensation to build up when parked, both of those as well as the burnt out pump will cost more than a 1/2 tank of gas Wink

or.. jut cause it to pull it round in a circle and not to the carbs...there is a reason for return to go to the tank. have you ran it out of fuel? are you sure it is 1/4 tank?Im not familur with those tanks but something might be able to be done inside the tank.....even moving the return may be something....or the sock..or inlet...or it's time to get fuel... Shocked or check for tsb on that issue Wink good luck. I ran my bug out of fuel 1 time(asshole at station pissed me off so I went else where...to another island....too far) it started sputtering&ran out going down the destin bridge.so I droped the right side wheels off road to pull over.well the fuel ran from the fuel line from the left side into the right side carb and started going.so for about 4 miles I ran on 2 cylinders to the next station.. half offroad.wtf it was a baja!!! good luck.something can always be done.
