The front tires on my KG leak air around the rim with the low (18PSI)
tire pressure.
The wheels are the old empi 8 spoke alum.
What is the cure?

Have you considered using inner tubes? |

Sand out corrosion inside of rim till even and smooth. Spray clear coat on inner rim to help prevent further corrosion. Use bead sealer on the tire when remounting. |

I second this solution. Install, rebalance, run and done _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.”

This solution is fine, but will end up costing $90 to $150 for some place to remove the tires to put the inter tube in. Even if they don't fully remove the tire, dollars for donuts they'll hit you up for wheel balancing. My suggestion of the green slime is something you can do yourself and is a $10 to $20 dollar fix, and it does work well. |

This solution seems the best to me.
Are you sure they are leaking at the bead? Aren't old Empi 8 spokes two piece wheels? If so, cant the seal go bad between the two halfs? Green Slime seems like a lazy solution, but it may be best if the old wheels are in question. |
