I know it's cold up there. It's 9am here and 37 degrees. We're expecting a high today of 56 and a low of 30 in the morning. But we'll manage somehow Very Happy

Think I'll start changing some of the rubber out this morning since I'm in the garage and while I wait for Fedex to bring the rest of the body rubber.

Rebuilding the doors has got to be my least favorite task. Just did it a few weeks ago on my oval. For those wing window rubbers, using a generous application of silicone lube (the gel in tube) works wonders for installation

I seem to recall the scrapers go in first before the vent wing window rubber, maybe I did mine wrong Rolling Eyes

Thats why we call this Mission Impossible and NOT Mission Difficult, Mr. Jody. I sincerely hope it doesn't turn out that you are correct. Actually the piece that really matters is the channel post running from the top of the door straight down behind the vent wing window. That seal is back ordered, so I may not be doing any more with the doors tomorrow, plus I've a class to attend at 12:30pm and that really cuts into my morning.

I ended up using Windex on the last two inches of seal, I'll try the lube on the drivers door.

And Pete, really? The 12 volt sticker would be on the drivers door "A" pillar. Wink

My bad, forgot your Beetle is a '64. The scrapers do end at the vent wing. Sorry for the confusion imparted. I was thinking of my '66 and when I re-did all of that stuff about 6 years ago. '66 scrapers go all the way forward to the curve in the door, thus the need for them to be put in first. It is a pain. Try doing an early Bay Bus door, they're worse!!! Good luck with your doors!

It's all good, Jody. Yeah, I had a '66 years ago. I redid a '70 beetle and you are correct about both of those going all the way forward....phew!

I used the unique parts clutch cable hook upgrade on my 64 and am extremely pleased with it. It doesn't use a hook but rather rides on a bronze bushing. Well made and no more wearing down of a hook. I also used their gas pedal upgrade as well. Best $100 I've spent.

Thanks, Jody! Actually the heat risers were not clogged at all, surprisingly. Out of the 31 screws for the tin, only one would not line up. The one next to the road draft tube. I couldn't get all 4 pieces of tin to line up to save my life.

In a bit I'll finish the motor up, rework the pedal assembly, install the Bowden tube, and finalize the clutch cable install.

That'll leave:
Brakes
Motor in

Drive
