Hi, can I use the original battery strap to fix an optima battery (red top) ?

Which is the correct battery strap for a 62 beetle ?

Thank you

A previous owner of my car fashioned a plexiglass top with two aluminum channels to hold the Optima in place, and the battery hold-down strap goes right over it just as if it were an original battery.

i installed a blue marine optima battery. I used the original metal bracket it grabs part of the optima to secure it.

The 62 strap may be re-bent to fit over the Optima 6v redtop. I know I managed to stretch one over an Odyssey battery many moons ago- just needed reshaping and a plastic shim.

battery cut off switch/key.
also the wood you see I use a piece of plywood over the battery with security screws so you can't easily bypass it.
