|
|
Hey all, hope you are well! The wife and I are considering selling our 1970 Westy. We love camping in it and this is only a last resort. Do any of you know if there is a site I can get the value of my bus? Just want to know what I'd be looking at. I checked ebay but people are still bidding there, so I'll watch, but I would like to try and get best estimate. Thanks is advance guys and I hope we don't have to sell it... =) _________________ Lovin our '70 Westy! |

you know what they say
its worth what someone is willing to pay
compare the mechanical condition and appearance of yours with
other buses
1 other thing to consider is how fast do you want to sell your bus
do you need to sell it by the end of the week
or are you willing to wait a month or 2 to get it sold at fair market value
people selling their bus always want to get market value
but they never want to spend the time to figure out what that market value is
and they don't want to wait for a buyer that's willing to pay what its worth
so if you need to sell it to raise cash quickly market value is irrelevant
if you have time to get every $ out of it
then you have time to compare it to what other buses are selling for
and you can figure out just how much you can get for yours _________________ order your BAY WINDOW T-SHIRT here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1526918

No need to sell at all really, just wanted to find out the worth in case we decide to sell it. Trust me, we love it and would love to keep it and hope to keep it. _________________ Lovin our '70 Westy! |

look at eBay's completed listings. this will give you an idea of what people are paying for buses. _________________

Along with what everyone else has said, post some pictures of your bus. Interior, exterior and under it. What condition is the motor, trans and suspension?
When I bought my 70' Westphalia early this summer, I saw the price range going from $2000k for a rough, needs everything bus to around $15k for very nice condition bus's that were 'stated' to need nothing and had nice paint jobs and most of the original equipment/interiors in great shape.
68-71 bus's seem to be more popular these days due to the type 1 engines simplicity. It also doesn't help that the type 4 engines are getting more and more expensive to work on along with everyone stating the good parts for them are getting harder to find. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

http://www.nada.com/ or look at some of the auction results - https://www.mecum.com/ for example. Also look in classified here for similar year and condition. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |
