Word from J is he got pulled out. Stu, those look like rain clouds.

No worries, his wipers were in place and working correctly the entire time he had his sunglasses on while driving |

Ahhh, the open road. Backwoods, backroads, backcountry freedom from the daily grind -- the wind in your hair...
I mean a whole lotta wind in your hair. Like if you are missing the entire windscreen and the bugs and occasional piece of gravel are whizzing in at 45 mph, THAT kind of wind in your hair.
So does this mean you finally made it home? _________________ '71 Westy w/ a 1776 singleport, 34P3 & 205Q. Points.

Made it home safely, other then a few bugs I had near zero issues, and actually enjoyed not having a window. Taste of the safari life 85° was perfect!
My hair on the other hand still hasn't fallen back down ...
It's an estimated $1000 to get the frame bent back and reenforeced, to prevent rebending, not to mention finding a all clear windshield. I'm probably a month or two out from having any kind of cash like that _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

Bravo!!!
Stuart, after your texts today I had to see what the heck happened. Great story my friend. My bus bucket list...er...buscket list includes cruising the southwest, and up the coast to crash on Stuart's couch. Maybe then I can return a favor and help him spend $1200.
Oh and of course I'd love to meet many of you samba users on the way.
Sigh. Someday. _________________ -Tony

got you all some pics of the good parts....
keep in mind, anyone with any sane smarts about them who drives safely would have easily made this trip without mashing up a bus. i just drove like an idiot and thats what it got me. wont be doing that again.
Enjoy!

...so who wants to go next year?
this time im driving a bit slower....
and maybe changing some other things on my bus to adapt with my driving style.
and for those who are chickening out due to what happened to my bus, please remember 4 other busses were behind me and not one of them had any trouble. in fact two were lower then i was and they still did fine. its all about the driver and how you want to enjoy the trip
anyone up for a route next year south to north? _________________ Stuart Zickefoose
