I've got pretty significant orange peel, just wondering when I go through the color sanding and buffing process, do you experienced folks think it will come out ok?
This is around the rear window area:
Guess I'm just hoping to get a warm and fuzzy that it's going to look acceptable after a ton of sanding.
It's single stage, couple of coats. _________________ 1971 super total body-off restoration

holy shit, what did you spray? looks like chip guard.
you can try to sand/buff, but if the whole car is like that I would start all over. that's just me.
you could wet sand with 600. once you get the paint flat again, you (and only you) can decide to keep sanding up to 2000 and buff.
I would wet with 600, and put down more paint. you either have gun issues, or mixing issues. technique could be at fault here too _________________

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |

How many coats did you spray and was the primer underneath it sanded very flat or did it also have peel in it? - My experience with heavy peel is that I end up repainting...
On the plus side, you can learn how to color sand and see what results you can get out of sand paper and cutting compounds - there is a learning curve to shining sanded paint _________________ Wish List:

I think it was mainly application technique, because on other areas it flowed out nice and flat and looks 100 times better than the section I posted.
For instance here is a fender:
In any case nothings gonna happen till spring since it's turning winter here _________________ 1971 super total body-off restoration
