I take it this is how these are supposed to "bolt in" seems about right and if so there is gonna need to be some adjusting required. The bottom needs to be flipped over, really don'tlike the ides of just the 4 bolts holding them on or how they hang down, seems like it would just bjsbust the bolts off. And the top are nowhere near being flat to bolt up worth a crap.

Little sneak peak, even have room for the spare tire, electronics, and maybe the battery.

Not the prettiest welds in the world but it will hold for sure, the driver side is boxed in and I ran out of mixed gas right as I finished. Will get gas after work and do the other side tomorrow then start on the cage before I weld in the angled cover plates.
and it official now it has a name.

Before I star welding I rebuilt the pedal assembly and upgraded it with the roller pedal and Bigfoot clutch shaft from uunique parts. Gotta say it seems to be some real quality stuff, think I am gonna love it.
was down on my back so didn't do anything today but got my pulls goin and need to get to work on it. |

Just went crazy, I ordered a pop up sun roof. Figured with no AC it will help in the summer to pop that open and let some more air flow. This should be a fun one to do, anybody ever put one in before?? |

I have a factory sunroof in mine, makes it nice in the summer. What are you gonna do for steering stops with those beam supports in? _________________ http://www.facebook.com/pedrodelnorte |

You are really going to town. I got lucky on my pan and didn't have to do any rust repairs there, just on the body, but not much. I also got the wide pedal mod from Unique parts. The stop block had to be modified on mine though. My pedals were leaning too far back and i had the block slid as bar back as it would go. My fix was to weld a piece of allthread across the front of the block where the pedals hit and works good now. My clutch cable also wouldn't fit over the stud without being drilled out a little, but i got it all mounted up now and i think i'm going to like it.
Keep up the good work. _________________ "To understand is to stand under which is to look up to which is a good way to understand." |

well dang got a call and found out the sunroof was out of stock, so went to sunroofdoctor and he had it in stock so back on order, and should be here by Tuesday. Also made a decision and keeping the trans I have until it blows up or something. It is an early IRS 68-70 style with the 4.12 R/P as far as I can tell so should work great with the 30" tires. So along with that I called chirco and have a kit on the way to convert to 930 CV's.
I have said this a couple times already, but think it might be true this time..."should have a rolling chassis by next weekend!!" |

Got the cage most in, welded the front and middle in and now need to start the back then add some more bars in and paint it. Hope it clears the window cranks but will worry about that when I get there.

Fully welded in and added the bar for the seat belts to mount to. Now just gotta add two braces in the back two along the rocker panels and two or four to the front fire wall.

More work on the cage, and wound up cutting the whole firewall out.
Also took all the glass out. |

New firewall in the works, will have an inner and outer and will weld around the bars for the cage. Gonna be tuff to do and will be no fun cutting pieces to go around the top of the bars not to mention weld them up.

Inner firewall is welded up, that was not a lot fun, and would not recommend this without a plasma cutter.
