I want to cut out some floor pans and use a sawzall from HF. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the cheapy 6 amp they have should do the trick with some good quality blades? They also have a 7.5 amp and a 9 amp. |

My Craftsman 6.5 amp has done a lot of metal/wood cutting & never missed a beat. I have gone thru hundreds of metal/wood blades with it. The HF 6.0 amp is probably fine for your VW etc. I always buy the long metal/wood blades. You'll need an angle grinder too. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Thanks for the info, Mike. That's exactly what I was wanting/hoping to hear. Got a coupon for $21.99 for this one http://www.harborfreight.com/6-amp-reciprocating-saw-with-rotating-handle-65570.html
and then the 7.5 amp bumps up $49.99. I'm sure I'll find other uses for it once I have it, but after it cuts out 2 pans it'll probably sit for a while. I'll post the results in the HF win, loss thread once I give it a try. Thanks again... |
