what do you mean?
The Vin will be over the spare tire. Also the Vin and Color will be on the door jam tag. It would have had 3 gauges, 4 steel 4.5x15inch wheels. There was only one size 912 motor, with Solex dual throat carbs. 451xxx is a very early number. Also indicates it was built at the Karmann factory, not the Porsche factory (those start with 35xxxx)
anything more, you will need to contact the Porsche museum and order a birth certificate, which will tell you original destination, 4 or 5 speed (both were available) exterior/interior color, and any other options that were bought (there werent many options honestly)
hope this helps. The 912BBS Forum http://www.912bbs.org/vb/forum.php and registry is a good place to start. They are great people _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

thanks. The vehicle will be coming up for sale and I know nothing about 912s. Only had the vin to go on as it is a auction sale. Wasn't sure of the transmission or motor. The car is heavily damaged and I was looking at it for only the motor and transmission. |
