If anything thank Virgil Exner, and Ghia for taking afew notes. Not much of a coincidence that the 53 karmann Ghia prototype came out along with the 53 coupe d' elegance.
I know this is about newer cars, but Chrysler should be rather flattered. My vote goes to the rcz |

Yes, I was thinking the boxer engine was another similarity. Anyway, here's a ghia just for easier comparison...
And the Audi TT...
Are there better imitators out there? |
I can certainly see the amazing similarity----------------------all three cars are blue.

How can that Subaru look like a Karmann Ghia?
Come on....I really don't see it.
The original poster is probably a Subaru-dealership sales representative who wants us all to buy his Subaru's..... either that, or the pot harvest in South-California must be of pretty good quality this season _________________ drive it like you just robbed the bank
you don't have to be crazy to be into VW's, but it sure helps!!
.... if it ain't dutch, it ain't much! |

Topghia, That is indeed it!
I also thought it looked like a porsche boxster, maybe porsche picked up the concept instead of VW.
I can't remember where it came from, where did you get yours? |

Karmann made convertibles for a number of major marques including Porsche, MB and Renault so collaboration/cross fertilisation is to be expected.
BTW Vigil Exner was working with Carrozzeria Ghia in Italy in 1953 so it's no surprise there was again a cross-fertilisation of ideas between KG prototype and Chrysler D'elegance. _________________ John.

Just trying to create friendly banter. No need to accuse anyone of being a car dealer or a pot smoker... at least you didn't call me a pot-smokin' car dealer
OK, so how about we just enjoy this one. I think this concept car design by Renan Carlos Oliveira (a student project I believe) has been posted elsewhere, but maybe worth another look...

Doesn't ford own the name ghia?
Don't know if I would like a re make of the karmann Ghia, I guess it's a fun concept to think about. _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.

May as well add the 2009(?) Volkswagen Bluesport Roadster concept to the list of modern cars that bear a faint resembance to the Karmann Ghia:
