So I have a carburetor with manual choke (Weber Progressive Carb) and I was wondering if it was possible to put electric choke on it so that on cold days I don't have to go back there and mess with it.
I don't think that this is the exact carb, but it is close.

Could anyone help me figure out how to hook up electric choke or whether it is possible?
Thanks,

Have you thought about running a choke cable to it?
The Dellorto DHLA on my supercharged engine had a manual choke, I just ran a 16foot choke cable through the rear quarter cavity and mounted on the tunnel near the handbrake, worked well. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

.
See, I already have choke cable, but I want to convert it to electric so that it does everything automatically (I don't think my choke cable works properly though ). I just don't want to have to mess around with anything, just start it up. Could anyone tell me how to convert it to electric so I don't have to have the cable anymore.
Thanks! |

I don't know if they make an automatic choke for this carb, but personally, I'd rather have the manual choke. Maybe I'm just a control freak _________________ jlex.

Well, this is my first vw beetle (1975) and I would rather have my choke do it all auto. I know that they sell kits but I don't know whether it would work with my bug (generic kits). I also don't know how and where to hook it up. |

Sorry, I don't know anything about Weber carbs. I have the original 30 pict 3. Someone w/ Weber knowledge will have to chime in for you. _________________ jlex.
