It may just look (to me) tbat it sticks out further than it does. We have alot of tight OHV trails here mostly created during the first harvest in the 40s. Even after several replants and harvests the trails still exist to get to the trees. The whole spotted owl thing combined with people assuming we were just killing trees up here has slowed harvest and replant to a crrawl. We used to ride on dads lap and drive while mom poured cocoa from a thermos while we listened to the saws and trucks, now its just a quite peacefull drive tbrough the woods and then out past all of the ghost towns that were displaced. The branches are what rip mirrors, anteanas , hellas etc of the front corners of trucks.
