So I'm replacing the rubber fuel lines (gowesty kit) and where the one line goes through the grommet on the firewall and connects to that hard plastic line, I accidentally pinched the hard plastic line about an inch up from where it connects to the rubber line. Should I be worried about this, as far as the strength of the hard plastic line being compromised due to the pinch? I'm debating whether I should cut the hard plastic line above the pinch before I install the rubber hose over it. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Well, if it were me I'd cut out the pinched spot in the plastic line and cut a longer piece of rubber hose. If you don't have enough extra hose then you might have to visit your FLAPS to get a length of it.

Edit: Also, when you cut the plastic line don't use the wrong tool, like a pair of diagonal cutters. You need something to slice it, like a pvc pipe cutting tool sold at any box store lumber yard.

Yep, you need to cut off that crimped part. The strength has been heavily compromised and it is under high pressure with fuel, not a good combination.

When I have replaced my fuel lines I replaced that hard plastic line (on the fuel pump side, not the return side) with a straight run of fuel line from the fuel filter to the engine. I used a grommet in the firewall.
