Vans as far as the eye can see, overwhelming trying to figure out which van to check out next! I overheard many funny conversations from bypasses "are you guys camping together?" or "how did they manage to get all these parking spots together? Oh honey don't be naive, most likely they've been camping here for the weekend" or "yeah these things look practical, easier to drive and park than an RV"
Once again I didn't get to meet everyone I wanted to, kid wanted to play in the sand and I don't blame her, it was a summer day! we need some Samba name tags! I never connected with the folks looking for the taillight or the gas cap. Mission impossible, such a great turnout, everybody was really nice. _________________ 1991 Westy auto w/ Peloquin TBD

One of the best Burning Van ever.
Maybe even more fun than the actual Burning Man. |

Patience. It's a lot of pics to look through and watermark. I'd rather take the time than get yelled at for crediting pics to the wrong party.😉 _________________ BenT |

Wife and I had a wonderful time walking amongst so many beautiful rigs, asking questions and just taking it all in. Got a lot of good advice on how to shop for our future westy.
Thanks all for putting this together.

Such an amazing time, what a day! How did I even find a parking spot! Great to meet everyone. This was really my first ever car show, vehicle enthusiast gathering, good times! Here's a panorama I took from the wall on the sidewalk.

@Madspaniard , I stopped by your van a few times hoping for that gas cap, but I think we missed each other, no worries as I rigged a water bottle top as a temporary fix. |

This was an awesome event with so many nice folks and vans. We met lots of new people and saw many familiar faces. This was our first BurningVan and our son’s first VW/Vanagon show, won’t be his last I’m sure. Already can wait for Syncrofest! Only took a handful of pics but here they are. Forgive my lack of photographic creativity. Thanks for putting this together Ben and all others involved.

eurekability, madspaniard was looking for you all day! The problem with Samba is members rarely use their real names. We get out there in the real world and it's hard to identify who's who. It was difficult enough to remember everybody you meet in such a day but to sort it out by Samba user name was near impossible. The madspaniard was easy to spot. He found me first! That plus he's been to bURNINGvAN more than a couple of times.
Please let me know, if it's ok to repost your panoramic pic of the event. _________________ BenT |

It's was great to see you guys. This is the reason to put these events together. Social media is a great way to connect but nothing substitutes for the pleasure of meeting people face to face. Hope to see at Syncrofest and Van-O-Rama in September.
Ps: Jeremy, I need permission to repost your pics to an album for centralized viewing. _________________ BenT |

I hope you were taking a picture of that sweet blue Syncro, and not my wife's butt
It was an awesome event! I just wish I had taken a bit more time to put faces to Samba accounts. Did get to finally meet TequilaSunset in person, as well as a few others though. Saw Stephan and his "Auto Haus" crew making the rounds as well, so the Sacramento area and the unofficial "1.8T club" was well represented!
And for those of you enduring that nasty weather back east, it was sunny and about 70 degrees. I was wearing a t-shirt and flip-flops, which is crazy warm weather for San Francisco! Probably too warm, as it was a challenge finding parking in the "van area" as there was a steady stream of cars coming through for most of the day. So glad we got there at noon before it got packed. _________________ Going to where the grass is bluer...

Sweet! I heard he was testing out a customer's new R&P. I didn't put two and two together and realize it was yours. _________________ Going to where the grass is bluer...
