I've got a pair of DRLA40's which were off an Alfa. I've stripped them down, cleaned and replaced all seals, but I don't know what to do about the chokes. I think the choke arms might cause some clearance issues with the fan housing, so I was wondering if I can remove the arm and support housing and make up a blanking plate.
Anyone come across these before?

I think I might install spacers under the carbs to raise them up a bit and I understand they are used to stop heat transfer from the manifolds.

They can be left off; no need to block them off! But you can put a plate on there if it makes you feel better.
