very sensitive system. back when we were doing the nut kits 3 times a week we use to tell the customer at least they didn't suffer the spider bite (when the spider bites the dust, then bites your wallet)
that's all I got for GM humor today... |
I'm assuming the spider kit is the plastic intake plenum, but what is the nut kit? _________________ nothing |

Whatever it is I don't mind working on GM's all that much, aside from some poorly planned maintanance access points during design the parts you get (even most of the cheap ones) fit properly and work, and the "kits" include all you need for the job, unlike our poor misunderstood German cars and thier crappy aftermarket parts. Happily most of that stuff is now priced to make it go away so even the big jobs are cheap parts wise even if you buck up for the genuine GM stuff.
I forsee alot of Rockauto magnets somewhere in Erics garage in the near future _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Thank you. Looks like a fairly straightforward job, just a little tedious. _________________ nothing |

Hey!
I think this is the problem I'm having with my 92 Sonoma, fuel pump!
Wouldn't have thought to come to the samba to get advice on my dad's old PU!
Great thread! |

It is, although room/work space is kind of limited. I helped a buddy do a spider and nut job on his wife's 95 Blazer (with CPI). It took us about 2.5 hours, and we'd never done that job before. The nut kit really made things go nice though.
And busdaddy is correct, most of the GM replacement stuff comes very complete, in comparision with our cars. That helps simplify the job (having everything you need to do the job, even from the aftermarket ). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Not all of us can drive our VW everyday, so we have to have something else for a back up vehicle.
You'd be surprised what you can learn from the Samba, IF the right question is asked. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
