I had a 68 Deluxe with Arizona Yellow. It took me awhile to figure this out. First I thought it was Bali Yellow. My Bus had major damage so saving the OG color was not possible. It sure is a pretty color in my book and fairly uncommon. I took a paint chip to my paint guys and they felt uncomfortable trying to match it, any one have a recipe? Sweet Bus in the pic. here is a shot of mine showing the door jambs in their original glory (I left it like that). _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

I could not find a Arizona Yellow Thread. But these came up.
Arizona Yellow search
All these Threads have Arizona Yellow in them.
Open a thread and in the (Search This Topic) box type Arizona Yellow.
This will list individual post that have Arizona Yellow in them.

I did link to ads of AZ yellow busses in the 68 only thread. I think there must have been 4 or 5 ads, all of them were a little rough if i remember correctly.
I know of one in the UK but it's had a metallic grey respray, at least one in the US, and mine in belgium. All of these are 68's, I don't keep track of SA imports... _________________ Also, vanagons! |

I stumbled across one in my ventures through the oklahoma back country..
Poor girl
At least we were all fairly certain it was AZ yeller.
Laying on its side for decades, we flipped it over to get a good look. _________________ -Tony

Early 68 only color, pretty rare. Nicest one I've seen:

Lots of discussion AZ yellow in the 68 only thread.
I know of a couple around here. There is one that I used to see here in town occasionally, but it was up for sale on Cl last summer. I think it is still in the area though. VW used one in a fairly recent ad campaign, I have a button bought at a VW swap meet that used that ad copy. I'll get a pic.

I did. I even got both little tiny b pillar trim pieces. Actually, I picked up 2 full sets of early bay deluxe trim that day...I'm just waiting for an early to come to me... _________________ -Tony

Ours is in the uk and a '68 - so could it be the only one in the country?
Its a nice feeling knowing you've got something rare |

Strong possibility you have the only one. I think it looks very nice on a Bay Bus..a bit "60's" but hey, I like groovy. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

There's def. not many in the UK or in mainland europe.
Here's a photo I found on the internet this weekend:
Also I just remembered about one in canada, transformed into a sundial camper back when it was new.
Mine was always missing it's rear engine lid and apron, but I just found an original paint rear lid! I'm pumped! Still looking for an apron..

Yep. I'll buy the rest of it too if I can, just to leave at my shop and have some spare parts if anything happens to mine. I was bummed when I saw it on the trailer like that though... _________________ Also, vanagons! |
