Something like this...
Can anyone direct me to a source to build this for my '65 convertible that has done them in the past? Thanks for any input.

That is what is referred to as a carson top, you would better off asking in the street rod world, someone who does street rod upholstery/tops is who you want to talk talk to. |

Excellent idea...I hadn't thought about hot rod forums. That may very well be a Carson top...but I'm looking for the three bar style convertible style often seen on hot rods that would look this particular top...maybe more like this http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://volksw...mp;bih=918 |

you need a tube bender & a welding machine & start building. The process is the same just a different vehicle. Do you want a functioning convertible or a look like a convertible? As previous said look into the hot rod forums. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

SpokaneXX,
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm trying to revive my project and need to redo the top on mine.
Once I get the research done, I'll share any info I come across.
My top is still clean, so it may just be replacing parts for me..
Here is my thread with pics of the top.. pretty sure its what you are describing!

There is a reprint on H.A.M.B. of a Street Rodder article "how to chop a convertible top" by the master, Bill Hines. Just google it.
