I have a couple of questions on the older golf radiators. I am trying to use one as a radiator on my Ecotec swap on my sand rail. I need both fittings to be on the left so I plan to mount a VW radiator up side down to the rear of the engine . I got a radiator from a junk yard out of a 1996 VW JETTA with a manual trans so it has no other fittings to worry about also got the fan assembly to go with it. It may be a little taller then I want also harder to mount then I think the aluminum radiator would be.
So my question is is the golf radiators the same other then side no hose fittings and pins on the bottom I have been looking at the pictures on Ebay and its hard to tell.
Some thing like this what is that pin on the bottom left or is it a nipple

Those are pins it looks like and that one appears to be up-side down. As the Fan switch is normally in the lower left when looking from the motor side. |

Thank you that helps a lot . I throught that might be a nipple for a overflow tank . I can just plug that off i plan to mount it just like in the picture. Do you see any problems with this cooling a 2.4 ecotec mounted on the rear of the sand rail |
