|
|
Just a couple of quick questions:
1.) I acquired two good shape rear axles for my 69 SC. I have changed boots and correct gear to put back on and greased up. My question is which end goes tot he tranny and which end goes two the wheel base?
2.) Also on a door. I have a new regulator to put in a door (same vehicle, 69 SC) How the heck doe sit go in? I have a clear path until I get to where the little vent window is inside the door. I cant seem to get the regulator over or past this this area ( where the window little vent comes in to the door)
Thanks in advance

1: the axles can go in either way. If there is any wear in the cvs you can swap them but it shouldn't be necessary
2: you need to remove the 10mm nut and use a lever to pry a little bit between the door skin and frame. It will slip in and you'll be all set. _________________ '69 Westfalia Camper~Cassidy

Rustednuggs. You should start a thread called something like rustednuggs '69 single cab and ask all your questions there. Then everything will be in one place and people searching can find how you solved problems on your SC.

The bay torque is 25'/lbs. I like it a few pounds higher:

the Vanagon spec is something like 33 or 36 ft*lbs verses the Bay's 24 ft*lbs even though all the parts are essentially the same. |

The picture below show my new rubber hose that I put in today for the gas tank. I didn't have the original one to measure from. Is this one to long and that's why the kink or bubble up in it is taking place?
Also check this video out:
My bus shifter hit the e brake? I am pretty sure I got the correct one. What recommendations might one have to shorten it? Cut it and tap the top?

Looks like trying to get a straight piece of hose to fit where the original was curved.

TY.
What is the best way to troubleshoot sloppy linkage? It seems to go in gear, reverse, 1st and 2nd...

yo man, your filler hose is okay, it wont affect anything unless that thing comes loose.
But if you wanna deal with it now, get Gates Fuel Hose #24718 _________________ Wash your hands

Thanks for this info. Quick question about a headliner. ..I am ordering one from TMI and wanted to know if I should put this in before my front windshield goes in? Or can I just put in the windshield and then come back and do the headliner? No clue...
Thanks in advance

Hello - me again, rustednuggs. So dumb question but as I am turning this large bolt to tight up the bolt within the bearing is turning, making it impossible to tighten. What gives? How do I tighten this up? Picture below.
Thanks in advance

Do you have an impact gun? Might help or might make it worse. _________________ Wash your hands
