|
|
Searched the forums here, Krylon satin black seems to be a good choice to replicate the OEM engine tin color. Is there a different black, such as gloss used on other engine-area parts (such as flywheel, etc)? Any other suggestions for a go to spray can paint choice for tin repaint? |

Good point on the heat. Thanks for the advice. Will post pics = have almost all components to restore to stock 1970 appearance. |

I didn't have good luck with the BBQ paint. It held up well to the heat, but gasoline will dissolve it! |

Pay up front for a good powder coat finish, and do it once; it'll last for years. Or, be cheap up front, and paint it cheap, and hone your painting skills every year ... You choose.

BBQ paint is not fuel proof and will wipe off with a fuel leak or spill. I've been using the black automotive enamel that's sold at Lowes, works great. _________________ -Jared

Expensive IMO but awesome! However, I had a neighbor that put an old oven in the basement after he remodeled his kitchen and he powder coated his own motorcycle parts. _________________ -Jared
