Ok samba peeps. Here's my problem. 1970 bug 1600. It started off as a random miss, or stutter, real quick like, and this was at cruising speed mostly. At first I thought it was a fuel delivery issue, almost like you're running out of gas. Well, then the problem got worse, it started to stall. A couple times I would just restart it and drive off. Then after a couple of those I would try to restart but it wouldn't fire AT All. I made sure it was getting fuel. Then I noticed it would slowly crank sometimes immediately after the stall. If I waited a couple minutes it would crank over faster and faster but still not firing AT ALL. Now its gotten so bad that when it does start and when it's idling it will start to stall then continue running without me touching anything. Almost like you're pulling the coil wire off and back on real quick. Now I came home from work and it had sat all day, and when I went to start it it was slow cranking again. Then I tried a few more times and cranking went back to normal (faster) cranking. It finally started without giving it any fuel like it normally would then quickly missed a few times like above and stalled completely. If it wasn't for the slow cranking I would say coil or ignition. I haven't had time to look but, maybe a bad chassis ground or something, or starter solenoid short. But could that cause a stall after its running IDK! Help is much appreciated. |

Single port 1600, mild cam, light polish on heads, electronic ignition in it when I bought it, so not sure what kind, generator, solex carb. It does have a kill switch, connected to the ground with a key. |
