Hi Brian, I am assuming the 300 car limit is something new. Do you happen to know what the total number of cars they let in before?? I had better get off my butt and pre-register. Thanks
*EDIT*
I must have pre-registered last year also, all of the info came up when I clicked on the info links. Its Hell to get Old.

I know they had the limit last year and we had to close pre-registration. Kelley Park is just a very popular event with lots of nice early cars. _________________ Brian O'Kelly

Does anybody know how early the line starts forming for swap spaces? I assume there's no pre-registration for that, right? Just first come, first served? _________________ '63 Ragtop (current)

I get there about 6:30 as I volunteer and there is already a line of swappers waiting to get in. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

The folks handling the registration are going over the lists. It may be that it will open up again. If it does I'll post here so you will get a notification via the forum. _________________ Brian O'Kelly

Kelley Park has always been difficult to enter, even in the early days of the shows(late eighties). But the wait is well worth it, its the Park Management not the club that sets most of the rules. When I lived in the South Bay I would always sign up to help park cars or what ever they needed help with, I live a few hours away now but plan on getting there EARLY to help with parking and setup. |

Do you have any contact info for the show? I pre-registered 2 of my cars but only received conformation for 1. I've emailed them via the Golden gate vw website multiple times but have yet to get an answer _________________

My buddy showed up with his bug at the door around 8:30 and they let him in.
They had allot more space than they thought.
I will drive through around 8am and see if they will let us in. If not we will come back another year.
shhhh.... Don't tell anyone............................But they outgrew the venue..... _________________ Scott

Honestly Scott its not that they outgrew the venue, Park Management put a stop to parking on the grass years ago. IF we could park on the grass there would not be a problem with parking. So you are correct also as the parking is tight without the grass areas. |

It is referred to by most as "Kelley Park"! Just wouldn't be the same anywhere else and... 300 cars plus vendors and swappers is plenty for not for profit club to handle _________________ Brian O'Kelly

I agree- perfect place, size and flavor. If it were all pre-'68, it would be a return to Heaven. I will be attending for my 6th time this year- from Idaho. _________________

Our annual Kelley Park show is coming up in 2 short weeks. Hopefully your car is in tip top condition. But if you didn't pre-register you are probably out of luck getting it inside. We have over 300 cars registered and even though there will undoubtedly be a few no-shows the park will only hold about 300 cars. Never fear, for those that did pre-register we will be bringing a list to make sure that nobody tries to sneak into the wrong line. But don't think you can sleep in. After the line empties out we will open up for as many Non-registered cars as we can fit.
Now for some logistics. If you get there before 5:30 Sunday morning you should plan on getting in the Early Bird line on Phelan West of Senter Rd. The east side of Phelan will be blocked to all except local residents starting Saturday night. If you try to spend the night on the east side you will be sent to the back of the line. After we have the parking lot set up someone will come up to lead the line down to the lot, as in the past. At the bottom of the hill vendors and workers will make a u-turn and line up on the street. Pre-registered cars will go to the left following the signs. Swappers, car trailers, and non-registered cars will go to the right where you will be further split up. If you bring your car on a trailer please park correctly in the angled parking. One year we had someone park parallel and it screwed up parking for all the other trailers.
Last year flowed pretty well and we can expect the same this year so with any luck everyone will be in the park by 8:30. Hope you have a great day. _________________ Larry
