i keep a 3rd battery on charge under lucy's back seat, so i always have one for jump starting someones car without digging for my main battery.
i'm thing about getting some anderson connectors and hard wiring one into the main battery, and the other end onto one end of my jump leads.

Cool idea. I assume you'd run them to the bumpers similar to the winch setups. Will you run 2 gauge, welding cable, something else?

I'm happy to report the unit I mentioned on the first page of this thread came through for me this weekend.
Starter battery didn't have enough juice to crank, so I hooked up my gimmick-laden all-in-one jumper battery and it started the van effortlessly with no significant drain on the stored energy...if the digital display is to be believed! Very Happy

This jump start battery caught my attention.

http://www.geniuschargers.com/Boost/phone/index.html

400amp, claims to hold a charge for up to a year and you can get 20 jumps off one charge. Also has a 12v outlet and USB.

More expensive than others listed though.

I was eyeballing a Clore JNC660 jump starter battery to keep on board as an emergency bailout jump starter. No air compressor on this model, just for jumping and possibly electronics if needed. Do you use a jump starter or can you recommend one? According to one source (my wife) I can get marginally neurotic about checking the voltage. I prefer enjoying the sunsets. With emergency departure power on board from a jump starter I could chill just a bit more... I hope.

Cheers!

Hi! I recommend this JStarter too http://batterykickstart.com/jnc660-clore-jump-starter
