Last night I was plowing, cleaning up the heavily drifted snow from the last snow /wind event when I was suddenly stuck with zero Front wheel drive. Instead I had a horrible metallic clashing sound when I let out the clutch.

Spent the morning digging it out and towing it to my garage.... -5* and windy!
Brrrrrrrr......

Turns out I destroyed the LF outer CV joint.

Garage is heated but sadly heat melts a Winters build up of ice and Snow!

Working on this thing is like taking a cold dirty wet shower!

Axle will be in late today and snow is forecast again for after midnight......

I'm beginning to hate snow...........

I plowed my driveway once with my bug (just driving through it over and over mostly to tamp it down!) until the chain's fell off and wrapped around my axle taking out the steel brake line on one side. Probably nothing like the snow fall you have right now. Been watching the Weather channel of Boston!

We're getting ready for our annual flower count. It's basically us thumbing our noses at the rest of the Great White North.

After snow blowing last night for an hour or so I tossed a chain off my tractor's wheel. WAY to cold to try to wrestle it back on!

The worst part about it is my shop is 200 feet away from the house. It made sense to build it there to keep the fumes away from the main house, but it SUCKS when I need to try to walk through 3 feet of snow to get a freakin tool!

Do it for a living..... then you can bitch about it... Laughing

I hate my job on those iced up days... IF "they" decide to open... Rolling Eyes I usually will just call in scared... ya know... "Afraid I cant make it"....
because I know... exactly what a defrosting vehicle dripping 32.1 degrees salt dirt water down feels and tastes like...
Thankfully those .25 inch snow days... Laughing cripples the roads round here... so most places close up..
I spend the "bad ones" all day on the tractor.....scraping our neighborhood out for free...

Most of those days IF my work shop does open...... its 4WD/AWD problems.. as those who dont use it for a year all of a sudden find out... its not working...

Advice... especially for electronic/auto shift 4wd/awd... shift it and run it a few straight miles twice a month. It helps keep things working..

Its actually icing something here in NC currently .. the Cheesy Egg Milk Bread is sold out in every store below the Mason Dixon...

Yum....

Laughing

It's an old 94 Toyota PU with 5 Speed and 3.0 V6

Not a "real" plow truck but it's done well for years..... Until now.
I admittedly was pushing the little guy....... Embarassed

Our snow here isn't generally overwhelming, 3-6" average.
When it really dumps, I fire up the old JCB 4x4x4 front loader / Hoe.

Not everywhere. It was 50 and sunny today, and has been for awhile. Supposed to cool off a few degrees and rain for a day, then back to sunshine and beautiful. A very odd February so far. We only really had two storms this winter, for a total of about 18 inches at low elevation. We have no snow on the ground now, save for the piles that slid off the shop roof and remain in the shade.

In 08-09, we had serious snow...

Local ski resorts are already starting to close, after scraping any available snow on the mountain to open a few runs. Crazy that for two years we, west coast, have been getting lame ass winters and the east has been getting the dumps. Granted working in it is never as fun as playing.

I really feel bad for you all in the east from Maine to Tennessee but , We are not in the Old Summer, Spring, Winter, Fall, seasons here in The U.S.A. any longer.

The last few seasons have been really different here in California too and not in a good way. The farms that produce quite a lot of the fruits and veggies that are sent all over our Country now are running 24/7 due to climate change. Years ago they plowed the fields in the daytime and now the fields are done during the night and crops have changed from Winter Vegies to springtime in Dec./Jan.

The radio stations are making jokes about Global warming while New England
is under 8-10 feet of snow while its 82* in Florida. Sunday it was 80 here
in San Jose and today it was 65* Rolling Eyes
