For a '66 Sedan......

It's difficult without seeing them on a car.

I think they look gaudy. Your car is way too nice for them in my opinion.

People have been dressing up their Beetles ever since they started buying them. Why not?

I wasn't talking about fog lights in general. I was referring to the particular style in my original post.

Try this for lots of pics of Beetles with many different styles of fog lights:

The ones in your pic look very classic, but maybe too old-style for a '66.

VW was not a fan of gingerbread on their homely Beetle...

They are a little gaudy in my opinion, but honestly, I think they would look better on an early car, rather than on a 66. Cool

What if someone found a stash of N.O.S. mid-thirties Mercedes accessories and put the lights on his brand new '66 Beetle, hoping to give it a touch of Old World class?

(probably just as absurd as the o.g. Talbot/Berlin mirrors I have on my '61 Ghia, huh? Embarassed )

They complete the look of fender skirts; visors and the little translucent hood bug deflector thingies. Gawdy as they get. They belong on American sleds and lowriders.

Oh wait! You have a swamp cooler on the Bug in your avatar Laughing

Just poking fun Very Happy Accessories are all a matter of personal preference.

I don't mind the fog lights myself.

touche' Cool

Indeed, they are a matter of taste- I guess aside from the swamp cooler and American luggage, I prefer German or at least European accessories on said cars.
