|
|
Hey Guys,
I am looking at buying my first rail buggy but I am not sure on the value. I am talking with this guy right now and I really like the looks of this particular one.
Here is what he informed me about it.
The frame is powder coated, it has a built 1835 dual port head engine, has steering brakes on disc brakes. It has a 6 rib hd trans with big axles and joints. Is street legal with lights, running lights and turn signals. Got between 9-10K invested.
Below I posted some pictures, any help would definitely be appreciated.
Thanks! |

It does not matter what he has invested and whatever number it is has no bearing on what it is worth. You can find plenty of Buggies just like that for $3500-$4500 _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

Really? Only $3500-4500? I saw some other ones in that range and they didn't seem quite as nice. But like I said I have 0 clue when it comes to value on these. He's wanting closer to $7000 |

When restoring British cars- the rule of thumb was ;

Take $7000 with you if you don't want to chance wasting your gas/time or build one yourself. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Well I'm looking at trading him my jeep wrangler for it. It's around $7000. I would be unable to build one myself but I was looking at buying a Polaris RZR. In your opinion would that be a good trade? Wrangler for Buggy? Maybe ask for a $1000? |

I like to have the price nailed down before I drive there with my tow dolly & not haggle anymore when we meet up. My wife always has to try and get them down $100-$200 more though! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Haha I agree, I told him I'm researching the value today. So I'm thinking jeep + $1,000 seems pretty fair. |

The NADA guide will give you the value of your Jeep.
Use the trade in value, and deduct any major repairs needed from that. Don't use clean retail price unless you know what that means (and if you have to ask......)
I don't know about rail prices but the guidance above and the NADA for the Jeep should give you the deal boundaries _________________ .ssS! |
