I've read the VW forum posts about hub cap clips and it seems that the WW (Wolfsbürg West not Wagen Werks?) ones are the good ones, but no one has recently confirmed that. Many threads end with, "These are the best ones, right?" or "I bought these, I hope they're the ones". From what I understand, they should be tall and have a 'D' on them.

The ones from Stoddard and Sierra Madre keep breaking and I'd like to get ones that don't break so easily.

Currently, in the classifieds, there are some NOS clips for $120 (for 4 wheels). There are "German quality or equivalent" on cip1.com for $12/wheel. There are "long style" from Wagen Werks for $5/wheel and the same part number from Wolfsbürg West for $4/wheel. And on 356devotion.com, a full set for $79.99: "This is a German Quality hub cap clip and rivet set. . . . not the black ones that are cheap and fall off, these are made from high steel metal with better spring tension quality on the clip and stronger rivets."

Everything I read says the WW ones are the good ones (or were years ago, at any rate), and then there are these "German quality" ones that are much more expensive but claim to be the best ones.

Does anyone have any recent experience with these?

Thank you so much!

WagenWerks sells a lot of stuff from WW - he is a distributor so they may be the same clips. They have a lot of other parts too though.
