I installed a chevy tilt steering column In my 72 vert......to do that
I had to cut the dash up about 1" & raise the steering column.
I now need to buy a smaller gauge.

Speedhut has one that Is gps controlled, but is $279.

on E-Bay there is a cable operated speed for $69, but I need advise on how to attach the the VW cable to the gauge.

Thanks Don Smile

no...the problem is I have to raise the speedometer to clear the new column
& there is no room to raise the speedometer.... I need a speedometer that is
smaller in diameter.

If you're reworking that whole gauge mounting area, you could change from the later style single larger speedometer flanked by smaller clock and gas gauge to the earlier style of larger speedometer and matching size clock on the outside with a smaller gas gauge in the center.

... just a thought.
