I know that the 63's came with chrome trim above the CV top and on the body bow. I just can't decide if it looks better WITHOUT the chrome above the rear window or with it. I know it is my choice, and I am going for the stock look, but just can't decide.

What would you do?

I went with the chrome trim along the rear edge of the top (hides the staples) as well as the one above the rear window. I think that the trim adds a nice detail and looks especially good with a canvas top. But as you said, its your car, so do whatever you want.

When I access the quality of a stock Ghia convertible restoration (or early bug for that matter) the absence of tack strips makes me wonder whether other details were omitted along the way. But that's just me.

How often will the top be up to even notice? I mean what are convertibles for? I don't plan on having the top up very often on mine, once I get it on the road. I'm more concerned with heat, so I can keep the top down ...

All good points. I think I will go with the stock trim at both locations. Thanks!
