|
|
I know that the 63's came with chrome trim above the CV top and on the body bow. I just can't decide if it looks better WITHOUT the chrome above the rear window or with it. I know it is my choice, and I am going for the stock look, but just can't decide.
What would you do? |

I went with the chrome trim along the rear edge of the top (hides the staples) as well as the one above the rear window. I think that the trim adds a nice detail and looks especially good with a canvas top. But as you said, its your car, so do whatever you want.

When I access the quality of a stock Ghia convertible restoration (or early bug for that matter) the absence of tack strips makes me wonder whether other details were omitted along the way. But that's just me. _________________ RIP HBB (1984-2009)

How often will the top be up to even notice? I mean what are convertibles for? I don't plan on having the top up very often on mine, once I get it on the road. I'm more concerned with heat, so I can keep the top down ... _________________ ----------------------

All good points. I think I will go with the stock trim at both locations. Thanks! |

Whenever I ask myself - would chrome look good here? .. the answer is generally yes _________________ 1960 Beetle ''Heidi" daily driver
