Hi guys,

i'm trying to figure out how many of you can fit 8 inch wheels on the rear of your Beetle.

My beetle is a 1.3 from 1967 and i put 7 inch wide and seems to wide, the wheels are out of the wheel arch.

When you measure for example 7 inch is inside the wheel right ?

Mines have 8 inch from the outside and 7 inside ( please check the pics )

Those 7" wheels are too deep set to fit on a lowered Bug. You would need a 7" wheel with more offset to the inside & a flatter face on the outside. You could cut the centers back out & weld them in a more outboard location to get them to fit.

You measure the wheels between the bead seat surface, not the outer lips. Any custom wheel shop should be able to cut oyur centers out and move them.

I don't want to be a negative Nancy, but that looks like the most unsafe way to widen a wheel.

As long as you have some pretty narrow tires, you could probably get away with a 4" backspace.

Unsafe way ? what do you mean? This wheel is only with 4 weld points to check, after this all the wheel will be welded.

The company that is making me the job are the best here. They've made hundreds of wheels like these and never gave problems.

BTW wheels checked, and everything will fit perfect.
