I fly model airplanes and sometimes when a piston to cylinder fit it too tight or the piston is varnished with burned castor oil I mix up a little paste of trans fluid and Bon Ami scouring powder and put a dab in the intake of a running motor and it cleans up real nice. These are 2 strokes without rings and such but it works! |

I said "some", I've got a few myself.
But some of my teenaged son's buddies with the $500 slammed fartpipe Civics are almost clever enough to fall for a stunt like that, Mensa need not worry about them applying any time soon. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

No offence was taken busdaddy ,just playing along.
The '91 Civic in the picture is my wife's car. She bought it new, it has just over 165,000 km on it and just a little surface rust. It's never been winter driven, which is why it's in such great shape for an Ontario car.
We plan to keep the Beetle and Civic for many more years. _________________ 1971 Super Beetle (past)

This is one of the most stellar threads I've read in many moons. Had to look at the posting date. Nope. Not an April Fool's joke. Damn priceless! _________________ Like us on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/MotherLodeVWClub

No way! Now THAT'S funny.
At least what was posted initially as a thread here was simply a hoax (which Everett proved with the link he posted). Who would do such a stupid thing to begin with? Rather comical. _________________ Like us on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/MotherLodeVWClub

Hey Cocktawa...
Why don't you dump 25 lbs. of sand on it...like you brought up in your other thread, and also in another forum too, where instead of the word "VW" you stated it was an "Audi"...
Quit wasting peoples' time with your bullshit. Ya dick.

Hey guys, I’ve got a 74 Super. I’ve had dual carbs for a while and wanted to get more performance. I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend that tunes Hondas and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.
I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it’d be OK. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn’t idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises.
Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My buddy only does Hondas so he doesn’t know much about VWs. |

Pure entertainment.
Kinda like the kid I knew in Jr. High with a mini bike that he rode around his house in suburbia every afternoon and all day Saturday. He decided the engine was a little hot after a session and hit the bike engine with cold water out of the hose. We heard a solid "tink" and oil started coming out. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

Un cooked rice sprinkled down a running engines carb has the same effect.
a sprinkle of bon ami down a running engines carb deglazes rings.
an oatmeal and pepper mixture is a great radiator stop leak.
German scientists during WW2 synthesized a grapeseed oil that met engine oil specification and was delicious to drink..
pack a noisy rear axle with bananas,it will quiet it down long enough to sell the car and get out of town.
a needle tip grease gun is effective at filling a seat bottom cover
neversieze under an exterior door handle works well too..
the best place to smear dog shit on a car is the fresh air vents..fish guts work too.. |

HA!
I don't know why I'm laughing, when I was 8 or 9 I did the same thing to an old lawnmower engine and suffered pretty much the same fate. It was the first small engine I tore down. Good lessons learned. Also learned you can't top off it's gas tank with water. Things I learned because nobody was willing to teach me. _________________ CU05 w/HBB
