I think the OP must first get a good idea of how an ACVW motor is constructed, to me is sounds as if he is a little short on the details.

Read John Muir's Timeless Classic "How To Keep Your Volkswagen alive: The Guide for the Compleat Idiot". It's not a perfect book but it will teach you everything right down to "Front is Front" and "Back is back". as well as to put you sholder length hair up in a knitted cap to avoid oil in your hair/getting it caught in generator belt pullys.

After you adopt His insanity(methods to madness included) Graduate to Tom Wilson's book on building an engine
