OK, that answers my question about the Sanden compressor- no way you could make it work with a stock air cleaner. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

On the left is the spacer bolt, and on the right is the regular pulley bolt. The length of the spacer bolt's head is marked in the picture.
Here's the spacer bolt viewed from the top. The thread depth is 45 mm; the thread pitch is of course the same as the regular pulley bolt.

The way I read that, a spacer is always needed, but they are warning you that there are some pulleys which are not compatible with the spacer.

Why? It fits nicely there. There's more room on a second design car than a first design car in that area. Does it have a cooling fan? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

How is the airflow in this location? Will you be adding ducting to improve the airflow?
Also, have you calculated the amperage draw for the fan?
Thanks |

I can't say about the airflow, but that's where the condensor was on my car when it had A/C (which was removed before I bought it). _________________ 71 Elm Green FI A/T Squareback |

I hate space saver spares, but if this were mine, I'd make a smaller tray for a smaller spare, and maybe add a deflector or duct to scoop air into it. That's a fairly dead air space now. |

Yup, my old 70 Square had the condensor located right there too. But, it had a dual fan unit mounted right behind it. Sorry, no pics, as I took it off over 18 years ago, and sold the car 3 years later. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Here are measurements from my fan shroud. They are taken from the hole centers:
And a view from inside the shroud. You can see how they cut out extra metal to be able to get the belt on.

These are from an OEM installation , right? If you use a different compressor/bracket, those dimensions may or may not work. |

If Ron uses the pulley spacer dimensions I posted earlier in the thread, these measurements will be correct. He'll have to make his compressor mount to conform to this. _________________ 71 Elm Green FI A/T Squareback |
