They got tons of that stuff, I picked up one at Walmart that I mmounted in the trunk of my goldwing, had 2 USB ports and a 12v cigarette style plug. Plenty of options, good luck. |
What did this look like? You have any pictures? I would want just one port incorporated under the dash maybe.
I was thinking of modifying the ash tray to fit an ipod with a hook up for the stereo. Be clean an simple and out of the way. The days of having a Deck in the dash are long gone. |

I stayed up late last night and finished the dash. It is installed but easy enough to remove and paint/cover it now before I wire it all in. Here's a few build pics.....

OK. So the more I look at this photo, the gauges look crooked. I know they are straight but damn it's bugging me. Now I'm wondering if I should use the stock dash pad, modified of course. Basically, just using the top and sides of it. Cutting another aluminum dash plate and then covering the whole thing with a good grade vinyl. so many options. _________________ (o\ ! /o) (o)=l=(o) |

The reason the gauges look crooked is because the top of the dash is curved. The gauge centerline maybe should have been parallel to the top edge. _________________ Richard

Perhaps. I'll kick it around for a little while and update you guys with what I come up with. I have the original dash pad and it has a few cracks along the top. Thinking of covering that and the aluminum with a good marine vinyl. I believe it will come out good and follow the top edge as dustymojave stated. It looked great until I put it in. Don't get me wrong, it looks good but maybe I'm just being too picky.
Oh, and a lot of it is camera angle. It doesn't look that bad from the drivers seat but still looks a tad "off". _________________ (o\ ! /o) (o)=l=(o) |

True. It's not that noticeable with the wheel on. The other "issue" i'm having is that I'm using a 13" Grant GT wheel. It covers up a lot of the viewing area of the two outboard gauges. I think I'll mount those two lower and closer to center. Or I could just go with a larger wheel I guess. _________________ (o\ ! /o) (o)=l=(o) |
