Over the years, Volkswagen made over 22 million Beetles and more than 2 million Buses. Some might argue that a car that numerous cannot possibly be unique, but as air-cooled VW owners, we know different.

Each and every one of our cars has something special that sets it apart from every other Type 1 or 2 on the road, something that makes it uniquely ours.

Personally, my favorite part of my 1970 Beetle is the dashboard. I absolutely love the delicate leather-wrapped steering wheel, and as a graphic design geek, the fonts on the speedometer make me nostalgic for a bygone era.

However, there's one oddly specific area that I always come back to: the turn signal lever. I know it sounds silly, but the careful way in which it's worn down always makes me ponder the unique history of my 45-year-old car; where's it been, who's driven it, etc.

So, what's your favorite part of your ACVW?

Her personality.

And her slightly crooked front bumper.

I've had over 20 ACVWs, but this particular one, a beat up little '69 sunroof sedan just makes me happy, and she's been very good to me.

Aw, I like the crooked front bumper! The '69 is almost identical to the '70, except for the turn signals, right?

The smell of a complete, original interior. That's some good stuff.

And driving their little wheels off.

The smell. Gives me flashbacks of working on ACVWS with my father.

The sound. I haven't got the radio in yet but just drove 3 hours each way on a business trip. Didn't miss the radio one bit, I really enjoyed listening to the car. Especially 60 mph and below, faster than that and wind noise overwhelms the great engine sound.

MY wife would disagree, but I love the way the Thing looks with no top and the windshield folded down. Just something about that box look...

Volkswagens are not just a vehicle to drive. Its hobby to love and invest time into.

A work of art has no importance whatever to society. It is only important to the individual.

I totally agree! However, even though I'm a fatchick supporter, I think they definitely look better on Pre-67 Beetles
