Xevin, I gave that 12 pack of Otters Creek Mixed Bag to Collin when He was last here in CT about 2 months ago. Was the box empty?

Yep, he told me a client from CT gave it to him. I knew that meant you. Which is awesome. Didn't ask if it was empty, half full, or full. That fact he's been toting that box around for two months and 2996.78 miles from your driveway to mine was good enough for me Very Happy The photo was a must for this silly thread. Had to be done Wink
Now that I think it about it CrRusty. You unknowingly created one of the most unique Beers and Bays contributions yet. Well done Applause

That was, indeed, interesting! Makes me think someone needs to start a "little hitch hiker" thread where a mascot gets passed from bus to bus and documented journey across the country...

I would volunteer, BUT i am afraid i am not a good candidate given my next bit of good news/bad news. (This is a 'virtual' bar, right? Well, i have come to drink my problems away and in need of advice/encouragement)

Good news - picked up the new plates on Friday! Even found a new shifter extension customized with my name! Having a drink with the new finds now - a porter, handmade of course.

Now for the bad news... This drink (which turned out flat in this bottle, of all things) gets a little poured out off the top for my engine builder. Yep, monday morning i was set to check in on the progress of the new engine. Come to find out, the mechanic was working over the weekend, late in the night alone at his shop. Suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. Seriously. It is sad and it sucks.

They are still sorting personal things out so hoping to get down there next week to check on the status of the where the bus was at the time of his death. Right now, i have no idea what state it is in or what has been done/not done.

I am bummed for his family and, after that, quite bummed out in how this entire first year of bus ownership has gone. I know i am new to this bus game but geez, someone tell me this mechanical shit gets settled down at some point! So far each little trip leads to major repairs. It cant go like this forever, right? Almost settled into the idea that this bus is cursed....or maybe a sign that i just need to suck it up and do everything myself....sigh. Whining over..

Tell me it gets better while i pour another drink... Crying or Very sad

(Xevin, looks like the october Pac NW trip is not gonna happen with the bus. But the wife and i are still going to travel, just gonna do it on the bikes. Yep! Motorcycle trip! )

My new favorite topic on the forum. Will be picking up my 69 deluxe project on Monday (7/20) and will post a beer and bay picture as soon as I offload it from the trailer!

Alright beer lovers -

Had a nice cool one and decided i should jump back on things and get to workin.
Got the bus up on stands and went to work tackling the exhaust studs and rusted out exhaust today.
Enjoying the finish of a tasty pilsner while the day finishes off. Didnt get much done but at least i started the task. Stud is out and one replaced but the taste of beer on my tongue dragged me away from the bus...cheers and keep on puttin

Sometimes I have an urge for a baloney samich over fresh cooked roast beef au-juzzzz. Sometimes I need a nasty Taco Bell stop instead of Taco Time.

A week ago I hit up a quarter rack of Rainier over the higher octane stuff on hand with better ingredients. It fueled me to fixing the BA6 on my Panel Beast.

Thats right bitches. I have BA6 heat now Twisted Evil

So I was working on my bus and sent a photo to a buddy to let him know my progress and thought, "Dang it I got the beer in the shot afterward." I thought it might be inappropriate to post here on the samba, but what do you know? Thanks to Pete, I found this thread and can add this photo. Enjoy!

Beer makes working on the bus a much more enjoyable experience.
Cheers!

So does it have to be running and driving to qualify for this thread?

Heck no.

Doesn't even need to be your bus. And Fodder you need to post a pic of the sweet ass panel of yours. With a beer of course. That bus is a work of art. We need another Camas get together. You going to the "Bug In" beer bash Saturday night in Camas? I might just pull it off and make it in time. PLF-Blue, glad you made it back to the bar. Be watching for updates. You still owe me home brew Wink

Well, i tried sobriety but it just wasnt for me.
Next batch of homebrew ready next week,, just in time for 'hot august nights!'

Speaking of hot, gotta dig notchboys BA6. Sounds like a mini-turbine firing up.

Had a pretty decent few days wrenching on old george. Got a new sway bar installed fairly easily and celebrated with an anchorsteam...

Waiting on exhaust parts from german supply now so cracked open a few Pine Drop IPa's (6.5%) from Deschutes brewery out of Bend, OR (had too much on a spur of the moment trip a few weeks ago up there to visit a friend). Wickedly cool pine taste enjoyed among the pine trees up at the familys cabin.
Thought about doing some interior stuff but as you can see, i went through a few too quickly...

Aaannnnd before you know it, too many stops any more progress for today.
One last appropriate shot before i said 'F it!, lets just go to the lake instead!"

This is a bitch of a job, but a little Sierra Nevada helps along the way. Beginning to think I may have met my beer match in some of you guys. Fortunately for me, I travel all over the south for work and get some pretty kick ass beers around here.

Wow, thanks for the flattery <blushing>

Here's a recent one sans beer. I'll see about taking/posting a beer clad picture this weekend.

I keep wanting to go there and visit. Used to a lot when I was young - family lived in Miami, Tampa and Orlando. Every time I think of going - Hawaii seems all the more appealing - for a third time in a row. Laughing

This picture was taken back in 2008, it became the cover art for one of my previous bands that year. I wish I still had this tin top double door! Spot the beer!

Here you go Fodder, I know some bus drivers going as well. Should be the usual cast of characters. I'll text Sunnydog and see if he's going as well. I'm showing up after the Red Bull Flutag. PIR Rosecity Bug in Sunday.
