Vittone hit 150mph with a 36hp powered Ghia the other day, did I read that right? |

He spent a small fortune turning an old 25hp block into a monster that would run over 140 mph. Gotta love it. I wish the video would have shown his face. All smiles. Now let's see if he or someone else can reach 150mph with a vintage vw based motor. Have fun and be safe. |

Yes, Darrell did a 141 pass and Dick Simon did a 116 pass in his Ghia with a Super Stock Single (single 28 PCI carb). It was a fantastic day for 36ers in the desert. |

congratulations on the 141 mph pass !! Impressive.
Just curious about what appeared to be 'smoke' around the gauges at the end of the video. |

Obie, Darrell experienced a small oil leak at the oil filter on this first run and the resulting smoke found it's way inside the drivers compartment area. A new oil filter from the local Napa store resolved the problem.
