Off to the muffler shop for some short lengths of pipe in ever increasing sizes that sleeve together, build up the black part until it fits nicely in the yellow one.

Expensive idea: Find proper sized bearings that have and ID of the OD black part and OD of the ID of the stand.

Get a piece of pipe that the small pipe fits into, drill a hole for the screw handle and weld that inside the top of the rolling stand. then weld a nut on the top so you cant tighten it with a threaded T-handle at what ever angle.

This is how I had mine setup before I had the adapter made.. Worked ok but the better way is to make an adapter.. I never trusted my welds and it did not look quite right.. it did work however... Maybe a local machine shop or tech school/community college will have a manual lathe "class" that could turn something up for you for little to nothing.. cheap 1018 steel or 1020 CRS would be fine..

Cut the collar off the plate and have someone weld it to the VW yoke.

Y'all silly! I just drilled extra holes in my regular stand for more adjustability & some spacers made of pipe to give more room to work around the fly.

Will the VW yoke fit into back side of the "Yoke" that came with stand?

Seems the bench model yoke has extremely small tube rather the yoke for "stand"...

Go to local "steel sales" and see if you can get a couple of short lengths of tube that will "telescope"....

This is what most of us use....

Well I took the least destructive method out of all the ideas, I saved the original mount by just cutting below it. Then I just welded up around the base of the VW mount and vhoila! cant wait to get the motor on it, just need some bolts....... I guess it's hardware store tomorrow Very Happy Thanks again to everyone for your help!

Or get the VW Alley yoke that fits, vs the cheap Chinese POS.

By the way, what size bolts/nuts are you using to connect to the motor?

Same size as standard engine/trans "connection"... Use stud on bottom with spacer and nut...
