This probably will get me stoned and beaten, but a week ago, I helped a guy put out a fire in his Beetle when we had a cold day and he used the gas heater in his Beetle and it started a fire that engulfed the entire inside of his car.
No injuries and he will repair the car, which he had not yet repainted, but it has made raised concerns in me about the gasoline heaters in the 181.
Yes The Bundeswehr used them, but they also maintenance things to death every day, like the US Army.
I'm wondering if it would not be useful to put an electrically powered heater with blower in place of the Eberspacher that I have. I have not removed it yet, but it has sat there for a long time.
I could hide the electric version in the space used for the other one and wire up the controls to look the same.

This topic has been beat to death. Electric heat won't work because your Thing doesn't create enough amps. Search and you'll find dozens of topics on it. |
