Didn't read the posting rules...
It is hard to find split bus parts at shows and swap meets in the GA, TN, AL area. The parts for sale are 90% Beatle, 9% other VW and arts and crafts, and 1% split bus.
Has it been this way for long? I've only been looking for the past two seasons (yrs) of shows. |

Try '67 OR '68 only bus parts. better yet, '67 or '68 truck parts. that's the rare stuff.
between '67 and '68 the rarest you can go is ambulance parts. That's not even in scope though. _________________ Wash your hands

You need to widen your search area, I find lots of good Split Bus stuff, you need to dig into every greasy box of parts to find the Gold.... _________________ Tom

We don't have many split bus drivers (or buses) in the southeast so people who sell parts at shows know they probably won't sell their split parts at vw shows (if they have any) so they sell them online or just hang on to them. There are some exceptions. Just be thankful there is a samba classifieds or we'd be making or adapting our own parts. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

One guess might be that simply bugs outsold buses 20:1 in the old days. Another guess, you need more horsepower runnin' shine and evading (that means hiding from) revenuers down there. _________________

I think it gets a little worse every year. Seems like all split bus owners have to hoard parts because the parts have always been a little harder to find - parts supply has been steadily drying up. _________________ Wish List:
