Has anyone used these I think new empi gtv-2 heads yet. I seen them on the back of hotvw mag and it says ports are 20% larger then stock. I have a 1600 sp I am thinking about converting to dp.

I haven't used a set, but saw a set at Jim's Custom VW's this past Saturday, and the casting was VERY nice! Added material for porting around the intake with a smooth casting, and nice airflow passages through the head.

They do look really nice in the picture. But you can never really tell with pictures. Wish I had the money to get a set and try them out.

Yeah, those are a close China copy of our heads. We've been manufacturing our 042's and 050's with larger ports in the USA for almost 20 years. More material around the ports? Thicker combustion chambers? Added material for more porting ability? Sounds like an advertisement I wrote in the 90's Rolling Eyes

Seen the Empi ad in the Sept issue? Now EMPI has a Stage 1, 2, and 3 CNC wedgeport. Would like to see some flow numbers on these to compare to the CB CNC heads and the Darren L5 thru L8 heads.

Actually Paruzzi buys my heads direct....and look at their description of my mold and how my heads run. I didn't dictate anyting to them. They bought a couple sets and tested them by building motors before they ever placed a large order.

What is the size of the exhaust ports on these GTV-2 cnc ported heads?

Stage 1, 2 and 3. Any difference in Exhaust port size?

Anyone used these and have good results? It looks as though they have discontinued the Stage 2 and are only proceeding with the Stage 1 and Stage 3 versions.

I bought a pair of their cnc ported Heads and manifolds . They look nice. I wish the chambers weren’t quite so big. I’ll have to get them flycut to get the CR where I need it to be. I intend on running them on my Endurance Racecar. It’s been a true testing ground for parts that see continuous abuse .

Those heads are based on DRDs CNC programs which were sold to Empi I believe.

Jason Eggum went low 6's with the stage 3's in his race car.
They just need a little bit of work but they are a pretty good bargain for the money.

Correct. - with all the small woopsies included Laughing
Now, the untouched Empi GTV heads is an improved version of the popular Autolinea GO3.
The GO3 was actually an nice cheap option for mild to medium tune engine for people that knew how to massage the heads to get the potential out of them.

I sometimes get a set of Empi heads from people that want them detailed. I ALWAYS replace ALL the hardware with quality stuff and add the small deflectors etc which (unfortunately) are not with the heads. They cool a little less than the older GO3 because of more meat around the chamber and intake area, so less crossflow.

GTVs were available before DRD was purchased. The Stage 3s are the same head as BugPack's old Shaun McCarthay signature head. I believe they're all rebranded BugPack heads.
