My door and interior panels are in great shape, but after doing the new upholstery and carpet we decided to remake the panels to freshen the interior.
I've already purchased the water resistant chip board panels, and all materials, and it would obviously be easier to strip my existing panels and recover those. My only reason to make new panels from scratch is because parts are rare for our cars, and I don't like the idea of trashing good originals for convenience.
That convenience though is pretty tempting. All the holes are in the exact locations. not to mention they are obviously cut perfectly. I don't expect to make money off of selling the originals, and of course I am keeping parts like the arm rests, and the map pockets to put on the new, but should I take the time to cut exact replacements, and pass my originals on to another project would be value added? Or are many 412 variants out there with fair to midland panels?
I have gained so much from this forum, I just don't want to trash good parts simply for my selfishness. I also don't want to make more work for myself to save parts no one needs.
Your input would really help a guy out, thank you! |
