The ones you have posted Johnny are 58 (Rich bus) and a 66 Devon....the 58 was technically available fitted to secondhand BD's in the late 50's and the early brochures depicted photo's and drawings of BD's but there are no known surviving examples
I have some pictures of a UK RHD with a homemade interior installed in 54 I will post some picture up soon...all blue leather

That's a poor copy...the grain is the wrong way....it's not one off the early 70's remakes though
this is my version in my 58....I'm just in the middle of doing a BD breadbox and will post pictures up when its varnished

Why do you think this is a poor copy and hasn't been manufactured by Westfalia in the 60's/70's.
All the door cabinets from the Westfalia museum camping boxes have wrong grain, you can see this on the two camping boxes installed in the barndoors sold by the Westfalia museum a few years ago on ebay.

I thought the museum buses were reproduced in the 70's or 80's and didn't match anything from the early Westies. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

For sure these are reproductions, but at least reproductions made by Westfalia, so, unless you find an orginal one, I think the closest camping interieur to original you can get.
As there are only a few around, I think they are very desirable.
Anyway, I'm happy to have and use that one

I made it super simple... Converted an old sofa into this:
It will have to work for now. When sleeping you just move the two seats together and pile the pillows at the foot end. _________________ ----------(VW)----------

Nice! Can you post up a picture of your sleeping quarters all set up for a good nights rest? I'm curious to see this set up as I'm looking into fabricating some sort of camper interior? Thank you. |

Sure... This is how it looks when the first row seat is moved backward againt the rear seat. At the foot end the pillows are stacked. Ideally the pillows should be in the same hight as the seat level. I missed that... The passed weekend I was out with the family camping. Two adults, two kids and a very happy dog all slept in the barndoor
