I bought what I thought was a 53 split window and after I bought he he gives me a title for a 54 which I thought was funny then got to looking and it's got the fiberglass rear split I got to looking at the chassis numbers and they come back to a 63 and it has the 62 to 67 dash in it as far as I can tell the whole car is a 63 with the fiberglass rear and it has the correct w deck lid and might have the correct rear fenders it has the correct tail lights for sure I tried to put the pics up and says their too large |

That would suck!
if you are on windows, look for "irfanview" it is free, and awesome for batch conversions of images, like for resizing.... that'll help getting your pictures uploaded in the future _________________ regards

Very disappointing for you. I hope you will be able to get your money back if that is the direction you decide to go.
Otherwise I suppose you have custom car of some variety. |

Well, the tail lights look to be egg tail lights so are correct for a 1955 US version Oval window I think.
Fenders are wrong for a split but right for a early 60's. |

Another sad case of buyer beware. Maybe the seller didn't know what he had either. We had a gal in our club up here find out that the bug she bought from AZ wasn't what she thought it was. It was half of one year, half of another, after market brake & home made drop axle, etc.. She thought she bought an original stock bug. Two words "Buyer beware". _________________ Bill |

I think he knew exactly what he had and I think he done it I got the numbers off of the chassis and it come out to a 63 I had the police come out and had him run the chassis numbers and it come back to a 49 vw registered to the guy I bought it from and I know the chassis ain't a 49 he told me he never had the car registered or insured he told me he had it since the 80s and the cops told me the registration ran out in 2011 |

Parts on the car appear to be several different years. 1500 H block engine, 1967 rear bumper, Oval deck lid and US spec egg tail light from 1955. The doors and blinkers look like 1963 to match body/chassis numbers? Sounds like the seller may have a problem with false records on the car. In my state the DMV would say that is a no no.
Good luck with what you decide to do. _________________ '63 OG 117 Herbie Replica
