Awesome build, I can wait to see the final car.. Did you end up getting the 2332cc Turbo Fuel Injection Turnkey engine that you wanted??
Cheers, |
Thanks Amrth
The plan is to try and go with that motor still but the cost of the build so far has exceeded my budget. I have to decide whether to stay with the plan and save up for the turbo or go naturally aspirated and save some money. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7784187&highlight=#7784187 |

Well I had a productive weekend and was able to get the body back on the chassis and make sure everything was still lined up and working well including the air ride. I also semi bolted on the fenders, installed the side molding on the car and the headlights are just resting in the cavity to see how it all looks.

Beautiful bug! I love the color and rims, too.
I think you have the front bumper brackets mixed up. They should be switched. _________________ 1964 Beetle |

Thanks, I only had them temporarily on while the body was on the sawhorses. I have swapped them and bumpers and all windows are in except for front and back. Still needs a motor and the interior finished as well.

Looks sweet!
You should check out the guys in the Central Jersey Volkswagen Society. They meet the third Monday of every month at the Chimney Rock Inn in Bound Brook. They are also the cats that put on the Flanders show and a handful of other events including their show-n-shine that was just a few weeks ago.

Thanks Jeff. Once my bug is up and running I will reach out to them. I probably should do before hand as I need some info regarding an engine rebuild. I have been to the Flanders show last year. It was very impressive. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7784187&highlight=#7784187 |
