I wasn't sure where to post this, moderator please move if I'm in the wrong forum.

I was at the Wicked Garage Open House yesterday and a Porsche Spyder arrived. Looks like a kit car to me, anyone have any details?

Wikipedia says they were made from 2013-15, this car was definitely not one of those.

Anyways here's some pictures:

When the owner was leaving, I was able to get a shot with my Beetle in the background Very Happy

No ideas about this car?

It sure looks like the Spyder conversion referred to in this advert, but some detailing difference can be seen:

Its a kit. It has a VW engine. A real 550 would have a 4 Cam Careers engine.

We like to call them replicas --- not kit cars. Many are truly custom coach built factory produced cars. For driving pleasure at a reasonable cost, they are preferred over original cars. Check out the Special Edition BECK 550 spyder at http://www.beckspeedster.com/beckspyderinventory.html. You can pick desired engine/transmission - everything from a T1 VW to VW/Audi watercooled to a Subaru powered Spyder. You can choose a roller and add your own engine/transmission or opt for a turnkey car ready to go.
