Also look into the Karmann Ghia mirror and it's mount. Little easier to install then a OEM Bug mirror, looks pracitically the same _________________ 1972 1302

I added a passenger side mirror to my '68 Beetle. Drill a small pilot hole first to make sure it matches the other side. Then measure carefully and enlarge the hole to the correct size.
Mine did not have the nut welded inside the door, so I clamped a nut onto a stick and fed it up inside the door until I could thread the mirror into it. I elected to use the expensive OEM mirror (I believe it was VW Mexico or Brazil), as it matched the original German mirror perfectly.
I don't have a close-up picture, but here's one:

Not sure of any details about this, you can probably search "right side mirror' or passenger side mirror here or in the gallery for more info.
I thought about this when i did my r side mirror, ended up going OEM, drilling the big hole, taking the door all apart to install the goofy nut etc etc. _________________ 1972 1302

Could install the older side mirrors. Not too much money or work involved.
