Brand new flywheel(did not check distance on clutch to pp), new kennedy pp, new porsche style cushlock clutch, all new stuff. clutch slip's some in 3rd, alot in 4th. I'm going to pull the engine probably within a few days and start checking things. So, what's the distance supposed to be from clutch to pp mounting surface?
Engine is a 2074cc in a 72 ghia.
On an additional note, I've had the engine out a number of times chasing gremlins out. one was vac leaks because I couldn't get a socket on the intake nuts. tried the 12mm nuts(which I have now) couldn't find 10mm flanged. So, I made a set of flanged 9mm nuts from 44 rockwell 4340. Gonna put them on during this gremlin chasing session. |

Did you adjust your clutch cable after installing the new parts? |

flywheel depth about .825-.835"
I'd have a new disk ready. What's good about the cushloc besides it's the cheapest?? |

When I bought it, they(advertisers ) said they were good. What would work better that wouldn't slam my trans to piece's. I'm willing to switch. bought it about 10 yrs ago. |

I was just wondering, never tried cushlok, but I kinda suspect it won't "recover" well after slipping a lot.
Daikin is good. |

Just looked at the old reciepts, clutch is a super disk from CB performance. I'm gonna have to pull it, so I might replace it. Whats a good clutch that won't be to grabby. The st-1 kennedy is probably fine. |

Daikin or kushlok should do it. I'm surprised u slipped the super disc unless oil got on there. _________________ 2276 IDA's 86C 11-1 DD !

Did have an oil leak from the front oil galley, some dipshit( ) screwed up the threads. Got it fixed, didn't see any oil on the disk. guess I'll find out this weekend.
Empi sells a daikin either repackaged or knockoff- any good? Best I can get locally. |

It held my old 2276 with 44 wedges, 9.6 cr , fk8 and idas. So I'd say yes if your under 180hp. _________________ 2276 IDA's 86C 11-1 DD !

I have no idea what part is most suspect. I guess just check everything. |

Would it be of any advantage to go closer to .825 to make it tighter. got the flywheel off today, clutch looks fine. but will replace anyway since I have the replacement(another super disk). Probably will resurface both surfaces. |

Checked with depth mic. .831" . flywheel is all brown, looks like heat treat. even the clutch surface, should it be like that? I would think it should be bright shiney bare metal.
I.D. of the flywheel PP relief measures 9.244", PP O.D. measures 9.25+.
Seems like that could be a problem. |

So, I took about .002" off the clutch face on the flywheel, zero'ed the DRO, came out .83, faced the PP surface. Mic'ed .828". chucked the PP, dialed it in and took about .005" off the OD, so now it fits in the flywheel-snugly. Hope that cures my clutch prob. |
